In addition to our monthly meetings, our club conducts regular events for members.
Details of events are announced to members in the VCCSA Bulletin, and where possible through the Club Notes in the Adelaide Advertiser. You can also check back here regularly as events are posted on the events calendar.
The club organises monthly road runs at which members can stretch the legs of their favourite veteran car or motorcycle. Typically these runs are held on the Sunday following the general meeting, and often take the form of a breakfast run in the Adelaide metropolitan area, or a longer day run to the local wine growing districts.
Where possible we like to tie in to other events of veteran motoring interest, for example when we gathered to bid Bon voyage to the Dutton/Aunger Talbot when it made its third trip from Adelaide to Darwin in 2008.
In the winter time, when the weather is not so conducive to veteran motoring, we often indulge in saner pursuits. An example of this was a Vivian Lewis heritage walk around some of the city locations where the Lewis Cycle and Motor Works and Vivian Lewis Limited had premises in the period 1892 – 1924.
In early December we commemorate the pioneer hill climb events up Norton Summit in 1904-1906 by the Automobile Club of South Australia. The Norton Summit Hill Climb is becoming a signature event for the club, and we often proceed past the summit to picnic at the lovely Mount Lofty Botanic Gardens in the picturesque Adelaide Hills.
